Welcome to our school

Moved by a vision of establishing a center of education and culture, where he would deldicate himself to moulding the character of our youth, Sri K.V Raman Nair established the High School, Shoranur on 10th June 1931 for the benifit of the people of Shoranur and suberbs, where there was no facility for Secondary Education. From a humble beginning the institution has grown from srength to strength and has 32 teachers and around 1200 pupils on the roll now. In 1956, the Silver Jubilee of the school was celebrated in a fitting manner. Dr. B.Rmakrishna Rao, the first Governor of Kerala inagurated the function and the cultural programme was provided by Guru Gopinath. Recognising the selfless service put in by Sri. K.V Raman Nair in educational and social activities, he was awrded the best Teacher 'National Award for Teachers' in 1960 and received it from the President of India, Dr. Rajendra Prasad. In 1981-82, the Golden Jubilee celebration was inagurated by the Kerala Governor Her Excellency Jothi Venkatachalamand presided over by Justice T.Chandrasekhara Menon. In 1991-92, we celebrated the Diamond Jubilee. Kerala High Court Justice Chettoor Sankaran Nair inagurated the function.The name of the school was changed to "K.V.R High School". In the year 2000, we started providing I.T coaching to our students on optional basis. When the Education Dept. introduced I.T traning on a compulsory basis in 2002 from VIII standard onwards, we set up a computer lab, with Internet facility providing I.T eduvation to all the students from VIII to X std. In the literary and culture activities, we have been doing even better. Our students have brought name and fame for the institution in the District and State Youth Festivals and individual performance have been outstanding. In the field of sports and games we have always maintained a record.Admittedly, our performance was far better in our Golden era. during the last 77 eventful years we have trained thousand and thousands of boys and girls, who are now all over the World in different capacities and they always remember the institution with love and pride. These are the major achievement in the History of the school and we can say unequivocally that our Founder's dream has been fulfilled.
