"Child is the father of man” - To mould the character of a child, a school plays a very important role.Our school G L P School Pirayiri gives each and every child maximum exposures for the all-round development of their behavior. Coming to the history of this school, it was established in the year 1925 with just two staffs and fifty students but now there are 12 staffs including one non teaching staff and 300 students. This school school is sittuated in PIRAYIRI panchayath,palakkad district. This path to glory is the concern and interest we give to the student to encourage them not only in the curricular level but also in co-curricular activities. To enrich their creativity we publish “palunku( bubbles)”, the school magazines thrice a year. They themselves prepare a newsletter “ Changathykootam(friends band)” which contains the current matters of the school, they also publish their own class manuscript magazines every year Giving importance to the health condition of the students, they are provided with free noon meal program and as a part of this they prepare their own vegetable garden in the school compound with all types of vegetables according to the climate. Along with this they are also brought close to nature and civilization through study tours and field trips especially to the places of historical importance and natural beauty. As a part of environmental day celebration students plant seedlings on the roadsides and other open areas, through which they show us the value of trees in our nature. Special trainings are given to the students who are interested in dance and music. Furthermore this school provides them workshops on mask preparation ( as a part of dramatization), origami, drawing, versificastion ( to improve their creativity in poetry) etc. Medical camps are organized twice in an year and complete check up of all students are done medicines are also distributed . awareness programmes on different diseases are organized for both students and parents Giving importance to the memorable days and events like lunar day, Independence Day. Readers day, onam, Quit India day, Hiroshima –nagasaki day etc. we conduct quiz, rallies, seminars, film shows , albums, speech and so on. Alonmg with these activities we provide them all the best facilities for the best outcome. Free computer education is given and to make them conscious of the current events they are provided with five daily newspaper as a part of programme Started by Mathrubhumi named “Mathuram Malayalam”. Special coaching are given to the students who have difficulty in studies and also special care is given to the physically challenged.
